Cause for Optimism

With economic fundamentals improving slightly, as measured by recently released GDP data, commercial property investors may be beginning to breath a small sigh of relief: Reason being that, notwithstanding the normal planning/completion lag, commercial investment activity as at 3rd quarter 2009 is still relatively robust and as such questions around oversupply were no doubt being posed more frequently. Wolke se goue randjie

Is dit nie asemrowend as ‘n mens vroeg opstaan en jy sien hoe steek die son sy kop agter die wolke uit nie of as jy oppad huistoe is van werk en die son maak sulke ongelooflike kleure teen die wolke soos dit onder gaan! Dit is ‘n gevoel van ontsag en verwondering. Partykeer is dit dieselfde as ons daai droom huisie / projek in gedagte het en ons sien al die strale wat deurbreek agter die wolke uit. Ek dink deesdae ondervind ons meer ‘n donderstorms wat ons kant toe as ons aansoek doen vir ‘n lening; balanstate, inkomste state, vooruitgeprojekteerde inkomstes, ensovoorts wat ons vir die bank moet gee om finansiering te kry. Partykeer voel ons soos hulle praat in die internet bedryf; dat ons dit in die “wolk” instuur en ons weet nie wat gaan uitkom nie. Partykeer is dit ‘n “Ja” maar ongelukkig meeste kere ‘n “Nee”. My Dream Home

Looking for your dream house? Is it a fantasy or a nightmare? Oh no, I said the ‘n’ word. Does it happen? Hansel and Gretel come to mind. They were wandering through the forest and unexpectedly discovered this house that was made out of candy all over. Hansel, who thoroughly appreciated the roof, tore down a big bit of it, while Gretel pushed out a whole round window-pane, and sat down the better to enjoy it. We know in the story that the friendly lady turned out to be a witch and in the end we might feel like when the witch told the children: "I've got them now; they shan't escape me!" We remember a time when we were content, happy, fulfilled and cozy in our homes but due to our circumstances that has changed- we feel empty inside, a longing.
